A tree and my father

The way the trees blow in the wind, so smooth and effortless. They are gentle, laid back, and calming. There is not a lot of energy behind them but it is very continuous and carefree. They aren’t angered and wild, instead usually relaxed and tranquil. This describes my father’s mood. He is always excited to try new things, and rarely contradicts ideas. He isn’t here to argue but rather always calm, cool, and collected. You will rarely see him snap and quickly change emotions. However, like every human being, there are moments when you get mad. This reminds me of storms and drastic winds that occur maybe a couple times a year. Otherwise, trees are usually easy-going and peaceful just like my dad on most days. He is always there, year around, to provide assistance. The leaves of the trees blow off in the fall and same with the snow in the winter. It is still always moving and ready to help and provide a comfortable home. This is just like my dad, at any time, he is available to be comforting.
I think that a tree was a great pick to compare your father too. I really like when you said that he is usually calm but there are times when he gets mad, like a tree in a storm. I also liked your description about a tree always being available to make a home. Great ideas!

ReplyDeleteLisa- Great comparisons! One line that stood out for me was "He is always there, year around, to provide assistance". When I read this line, it made me think about leaves, and how they provide their oxygen, year around, to us and the environment. It is almost as if you say the leaves are essential in your life and to compare this to your dad is great, because I am sure your dad plays an essential role in your life! :)
ReplyDeleteGood job!
You are lucky to have a laid-back dad! I like how we both compared parents to trees but saw different elements in both.
ReplyDeleteI really liked this comparison of a tree to your dad. I also liked the part about when you said how he gets mad, just like every human. You compared that to a storm that happens a couple times a year, which I thought was a good line. Even though people can be very laid back, no one is perfect and everyone will get mad once in a while.
